Danya Kachkou

Associate

Danya Kachkou joined ESG as an Associate in 2023 after serving as a graduate intern in the summer of 2022. Prior to joining ESG, she served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Ray Marshall Center for Human Resources at the University of Texas at Austin. In this role, her research focused on the pathways of opportunity youth in Texas, and she created a database of education and workforce development service providers across the state’s major metro areas. She was previously an Admissions Officer for Amigos de las Américas (AMIGOS), a non-profit youth development organization, and a sixth-grade English teacher in Houston.

Danya holds a Master’s degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Policy Studies from Rice University.

Why are you in this work?

I am in this work because I believe that all students deserve access to a quality education. While just part of the equation, equitable education and workforce development policies can catalyze economic mobility for a more just and equal society.
