Kenyatta Lovett Joins ESG’s Leadership Team

Education Strategy Group is pleased to announce that Kenyatta Lovett will join our leadership team effective August 1. He will lead ESG’s portfolio of work focused on ensuring that higher education serves as an engine of economic opportunity and mobility, equipping more students with high-value degrees and credentials that lead to well-paying, in-demand careers.

Kenyatta comes to ESG after serving as the Managing Director for Higher Education and Workforce at Educate Texas. In this capacity, he led statewide initiatives focused on improving outcomes in college access, work-based learning, and transfer and credit mobility in support of Texas’ Building a Talent Strong Texas postsecondary attainment goal. Prior to joining Educate Texas, Kenyatta served as the Assistant Commissioner for Workforce Services at the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development, where he led the launch of the state’s first apprenticeship office and improved collaboration with the state’s higher education systems. He also served as an Assistant Vice Chancellor at the Tennessee Board of Regents and worked in different leadership roles at Volunteer State Community College. He brings deep expertise in policy and practice to improve equitable access and success in higher education.

A key focus of ESG’s work to expand economic mobility through education is ensuring that higher education offers more students high-quality pathways into the workforce. We are excited to welcome a leader with a track record of success in developing and implementing the strategies that help higher education deliver on its promise to open doors to opportunity for individuals and provide strong talent pipelines for communities.
