Chelsi Chang

Chelsi joined as an intern with the Postsecondary Transitions Portfolio in the summer of 2021. Prior to her internship with ESG, Chelsi was the Institutional Partnership Manager with an organization that partners with local South Florida high schools to bolster college access. She worked closely with high school faculty and administrators to ensure they had all the tools necessary to properly advise and support students. She also provided high-touch support to hundreds of low-income, first generation, and students of color and their families. Prior to that, she oversaw an educational program for the Seminole Tribe of Florida and supported K-12 students.
Chelsi is currently pursuing her Masters of Public Affairs at The University of Texas – Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs.

Why are you in this work?

As a field, education is always forward-looking. A quality education can establish bridges to financial stability for disadvantaged students and change the trajectory of their lives; it can also open doors for adult learners who need new skills for better opportunities. For all students, education instills the confidence to think critically, question what is, and change what could be. Education is an investment in the future. It equalizes and actualizes opportunity. I love knowing that the work ESG does will extend beyond any of our lifetimes.

Why ESG?

I love ESG’s commitment to diversity and equity. Everyone recognizes the importance of the work and brings a diverse perspective to the table. I enjoy working with people who are just as passionate as they are intelligent.
