Why are you in this work?
As a first-generation college graduate and former higher education administrator, I have personally witnessed the power of a high quality education to transform the lives of students and their communities. The opportunity to collaborate with policy makers and educators on developing and designing systems to enhance educational opportunities available to young people is an opportunity for me to pay it forward for the support and assistance that I received from educators who mentored and supported me.
During my tenure as an educator in higher education and P-12, I recognized that my greatest successes occured when I worked collaboratively with my colleagues across sectors. I joined ESG because of the organization’s commitment to developing cross-sector partnerships that will ensure that all youth and adults have the opportunity to pursue a postsecondary credential of value.
