Deidra Jackson joined ESG in 2016 to help refocus and retool states’ career preparation efforts to ensure that they engage business and industry as authentic partners, are responsive to the labor market, and effectively prepare all students for the expectations of the 21st century work place.
In addition to her work with ESG, Deidra also develops and leads the implementation of strategy, relationship development, public policy engagement, and overall business advancement initiatives with key federal, state and local policy makers. In her role as the Chair of the Career Readiness K-12 Task Force, Deidra has helped the Louisiana Workforce Investment Council see unprecedented transformation of career and technical education statewide in the areas of industry engagement, state government and school district collaboration, and legislative agendas.
Her previous experience includes over seventeen years in the area of public relations, internal and external communications, advocacy, corporate philanthropy, and crisis management. This includes providing consulting services to various clients in federal and state government agencies, nonprofit, petrochemical and technology industries with such companies as BASF, Huntsman, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Shell Oil, ExxonMobil, ICF Consulting, ACE Scholarships, C-STEM and the United States Department of Justice.
Deidra is a graduate of the Louisiana public school system and Howard University in Washington, D.C.
